Across Washington State, Unloop helps justice-impacted people build the digital skills and confidence to navigate life after incarceration, from applying for jobs and housing to accessing services and staying connected. Whether you are just starting out or rebuilding, our program meets you where you are.
Digital Literacy Program (next cohort in September 2026)
The Digital Literacy Program is our core program: a free, live, online course delivered in small cohorts. It builds practical skills across four areas: communication and digital workspace, cloud productivity and file management, cybersecurity and digital citizenship, and career readiness and AI tools. Shaped by participant and alumni input, and delivered by an instructor with lived experience.
The course is led by Victory Code, founded by Victor Sauceda, who brings lived experience and a deep commitment to creating access in tech. After over a decade in prison, Victor built a career in tech and now teaches others through a program grounded in empathy and opportunity.
You’ll learn how to:
- Use email, calendars, and common cloud-based tools
- Navigate the internet safely and securely
- Create, share, and organize digital files
- Prepare a resume and LinkedIn profile
- Practice using AI tools

Format:
The program runs for 12.5 hours total, over several weeks. Sessions are held via Zoom, and we can help participants get connected if they don’t have Wi-Fi and get access to laptops if they need one. No one will be turned away due to lack of internet or a laptop.

Who does Unloop serve?
Formerly incarcerated and justice-impacted adults across Washington State. No prior digital experience is required, and there's no cost or eligibility barrier tied to time since release.
Do I need tech experience to participate?
Not at all. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are. We welcome beginners and help participants gain comfort with essential tools used across modern systems.
Does it cost anything to participate?
No. Our programs are free, funded by public grants and donations.
What if I don't have a computer or internet access?
We work to ensure access to a device or internet connection is never a barrier to participation. Participants who need a device or connectivity support receive help at intake.
Will this help me get a job?
We teach the core digital skills people need, not just for job searching and employment, but for the everyday tools that shape modern life: staying connected, accessing services, and navigating daily tasks online.
Is there more advanced training available?
A more advanced AI curriculum is in development, and rolling it out depends on funding. We'll share it with participants as it becomes ready.
What happens after I finish the program?
Completing the program is the start of an ongoing relationship with Unloop. Participants stay connected through community events and ways to give back, including facilitating for future cohorts.
How do you decide what to teach and how to teach it?
Feedback is a core part of how we work. Participant and alumni input shapes our curriculum every year, our board includes members with lived experience of the justice system, and we're launching our Community Advisory Board this year, a group made up entirely of community members with lived experience who help guide our programming.
What other programming is available?
Alumni in Residence is a peer support pilot that follows each cohort, facilitated by program alumni. We're also piloting new short-form curriculum, launching our Community Advisory Board this year, and developing a more intermediate AI curriculum as funding allows.
