Unloop’s training programs help justice-impacted individuals gain the digital skills and confidence needed to succeed in today’s workforce. Whether you're just beginning or rebuilding after incarceration, our goal is to help you build toward a career with stability, resilience, and purpose.

Digital Literacy Program | Now enrolling for October 2025

Build the essential digital skills needed for today’s workplace. Unloop and Victory Code are partnering to offer a free, online Digital Literacy Program for individuals impacted by incarceration. Participants will learn essential tech skills, including email, internet use, document creation, online safety, and an introduction to AI tools and applications. Whether you're new to technology or looking to sharpen your skills, the program focuses on what’s most useful and relevant for navigating real-world jobs and services. We center participant voice in how content is delivered, making sure each session is accessible, empowering, and rooted in lived experience.

The course is led by Victory Code, founded by Victor Sauceda, who brings lived experience and a deep commitment to creating access in tech. After over a decade in prison, Victor built a career in tech and now teaches others through a program grounded in empathy and opportunity.

You’ll learn how to:

- Use email, calendars, and common cloud-based tools
- Navigate the internet safely and securely
- Create, share, and organize digital files

Cybersecurity & Digital Citizenship
Emerging Technologies & Career Readiness

Format:
The program runs for 12 hours total, over several weeks, beginning in October 2025. Sessions are held via Zoom, and we can help participants get connected if they don’t have Wi-Fi. No one will be turned away due to lack of internet.

AI Fundamentals (coming in 2026)

Explore the basics of artificial intelligence through hands-on, beginner-friendly lessons. Participants experiment with widely available tools—like ChatGPT and other free platforms—to understand how AI is being used in today’s workforce. We focus on critical thinking, ethical use, and real-world applications that support learning and productivity. This program encourages participants to consider how emerging technologies impact jobs, communities, and their own goals—and how to lead conversations about equitable tech.

You’ll learn how to:

- Use AI to summarize, generate, or brainstorm ideas

- Spot misinformation and understand AI limitations

- Explore common use cases for augmenting with AI

Job Search Skills (coming in 2026)

Build confidence and clarity as you navigate the modern job market. This program offers step-by-step guidance on how to search for jobs online, write strong applications, and prepare for interviews—while also helping you understand how to talk about your background with honesty and professionalism. We focus on practical tools and realistic next steps that match your goals and experience. Participants are invited to reflect on their strengths and take ownership of their story—key steps in building a resilient career path.

- Build a professional resume that highlights your strengths

- Search for jobs online and avoid common scams

- Practice interview questions and get feedback

We work with formerly incarcerated and justice-involved adults who want to build job readiness and digital confidence.

Do I need tech experience to participate?

Not at all. Our programs are designed to meet people where they are. We welcome beginners and help participants gain comfort with essential tools used in modern workplaces.

Are Unloop’s programs free and do I need a laptop to participate?

Our programs are provided at no cost to participants thanks to public funding and donations. We provide laptops to participants who need them and do our best to remove access barriers so that digital learning is truly available to everyone.

What kind of jobs does Unloop prepare people for?

We focus on digital confidence, AI fundamentals and workforce readiness—skills that open doors to roles across sectors and industries. These are foundational, flexible skills that apply across many job types.

What happens after I complete a program?
